Spring 2008 Courses

For each of the courses, syllabi will be handed out in class. The instructor reserves the right to change textbooks from what is announced here; for instance, a text might be unavailable. Occasionally scheduled classrooms may be changed. Furthermore, it is conceivable that my teaching assignment may change. Any changes might be slow to be posted here.

Math 308 - Topics in Statistical Inference

Class number 5726 MWF 1:40-2:35 in ES 140. The text is Statistics: The Art and Science of Learning from Data by Agresti and Franklin. While the formal prerequisite is mathematics 108, someone with a mathematical background and some knowledge of elementary statistics should be OK.

Math 680/681 (Master's Seminar)

Class number 2679 (for math 680) and 2680 (for math 681) MW 4:15-5:35 in ES 140. There is no textbook for this class. The main part of the class is for students to give presentations. Potential topics will be discussed in class.
