A day in the 40's. Even a familiar route seems new and stange in cold conditions. We had a late start and settled for a few laps on Black Fly trying to stay warm. Some folks preferred to go for a horse ride.
On October 22nd, we hit a beautiful warm day. The ladybugs and wasps were out in full force. Hampered by some aches and pains, I convinced Chris to take it easy on me. We settled for Short Job and Sixty Nine with variations.
Early Novmeber, chilly and practically deserted. We thought it was going to rain and elected to try a new line for Chris. It climbs up to a ceiling, traverses out onto a steep face and on up to the top. I think it's around 5.5, Chris thinks maybe easier.
On a chilly, overdast day we got lucky and found one of our favorite climbs free...Betty. It has a different aspect when it's cold and all the leaves are down and you can see all the way to the forest floor instead of looking at tree tops. We elected to take an overhanging variation of the second pitch. The last photo is a real nice shot of what you see from the second belay ledge looking out towards New Paltz.
Almost Thanksgiving and we're still climbing. We found a new ( for us) area above the steel bridge area and played there for a couple of hours. Easy slab climbing which can be led or toproped. Fun climbing!!
