                                  ABSTRACT
                                      
   We discuss results concerning supercongruences between values of
   truncated \pre[_{n+1}]{F}_{n} hypergeometric series and their finite
   field analogs, and we then show how these results can be used to prove
   Beukers-type supercongruences.
