Infinite Series

Does your browser support exponents and subscripts?

If x2 looks like x squared, begin here.

Otherwise begin here.

In this case it is assumed that your browser (or your "terminal") does not support superscripts and subscripts. Presumably, the symbol for x squared, "x2", looks the same as the symbol "x2".

In this sequence of pages the caret or roof character '^' will be used for exponents. That is, "x squared" will be represented as "x^2".

Similarly, the underscore character '_' will be used for subscripts. That is, "x with subscript 2" will be represented as "x_2".
