A survey of calculus with emphasis on problem solving.
Topics to be covered include derivatives (with applications to rates, curve sketching, and optimization), antidifferentiation, integrals and areas of curved regions, calculus of exponential and logarithmic functions, differentiation for functions of several variables, and optimization in the multi-variable context.
The material to be covered corresponds roughly to Chapters 1–7 in the textbook.

Attendance at class meetings is a requirement for passing the course unless the student has been granted a special exception. Unexcused absence may result in failure or grade reduction. There will be no excused absences from tests except for compelling emergencies and religious holidays.
