Timothy Lance
Distinguished Service Professor and Chair
Timothy Lance is Professor of Mathematics at the University at Albany and Chair of the Department. He received his Ph. D. in 1973 from Princeton University.
His research interests include algebraic and differential topology, group actions on manifolds, and the homotopy theoretic structure of spaces classifying structures on manifolds.
Recent work in complex analysis studies algebraic structures in Hardy and Bergman spaces, and applications to operator theory.
Dr. Lance is also actively involved in networking on a state and national level, and serves as a senior officer of NYSERNet, the New York State Research and Education Network.
